Here it is... the day you’ve been dreaming of and planning for since you were a little girl: your wedding day! Congratulations, today is going to be a day filled with love, joy, laughter--and photos. Lots of photos!
With so many pictures being taken, you want to look your best, right? Of course you do, that’s why you spend months picking your perfect dress, hair, colors, flowers, and the ever-essential makeup.
Most brides choose makeup in a soft, neutral palette. Something that accentuates her best features (eyes, lips) while allowing her hair and dress to take center stage.
Softer looks are good because they give you a natural glow (on top of that loving glow you already have), while allowing you to change clothes before boogieing down on the dance floor--without having to worry if your look still works.
Tip: Natural tones generally include soft creams and yellows, taupes, pinks and nudes.
But your makeup should reflect your personality. If soft or neutral colors are not who you are, then go with a deeper or bolder look. Choose a dramatic eye or lip color - just make sure that color works with your skin tone and overall color scheme. (For instance, you wouldn’t want to mix a bright blue eye shadow with sage green bridesmaid dresses and floral arrangement.)
Tip: Consider bold colors like dark blues, greens, or burgundy and darker lip shades like reds, wines, or something really exciting like a metallic.
No matter what color palette you choose make sure you use a quality makeup collection that will last throughout the day, match your skin tone, and photograph well.
For example, Arbonne has something in their cosmetics line called Optilight Technology, which no other makeup brand has. Optilight Technology has two benefits. It diffuses light to create a soft-focus effect, blurring imperfections and leaving your skin looking flawless from virtually every angle. Also, finely sized pigments allow your skin to breathe so the makeup has a “light as air” feeling and promotes a healthy glow. Basically you’ll be wearing makeup that helps you look better, promotes healthier skin, and give you a softer, more natural glow--no photographic touch ups needed! (A win-win in my book.)
Above all, have fun and enjoy your wedding! Congratulations on this joyous occasion!
